Hello
I'm Fiona, the owner and founder of Medal Envy. I live in Lincolnshire with my husband & three adult daughters.
Medal Envy was born out of a passion for running and medals.
I have run 15 half marathons, 8 marathons and a 34 mile ultra marathon to date. The medals awarded at the finish line have always been so important to me and a big motivator to keep going during the race.
Every medal marks a huge achievement for me and are proudly displayed on medal hangers.
I created my first bespoke medal, in 2018, to raise money for my charity place in The London Marathon. These were custom made from my initial design and I loved seeing my ideas come to life.
In 2020, during lockdown and on a bit of a whim, I started selling on Etsy with just a handful of the custom medals that I had created.
I was working full time when I started Medal Envy, but have reduced my hours over the years, as my business has continued to grow. It has been hard work trying to do two jobs, but the business is my passion, so I am happy to put in the hours.
My hard work has paid off and Medal Envy has evolved into the business it is today, with us now having our own website I am excited to see what the future holds.
Thank you for supporting our small business, every sale means so much, I hope you love my medals as much as I love creating them.
Fiona

THE story of Medal Envy
From opening an Etsy shop 'on a whim' in 2020, to having achieved over 5,800 sales to customers in over 27 countries worldwide. I am very proud of my business, the journey I have been on and to now having my own website.
2020
medal envy
shop opens
on etsy
I started selling on Etsy, during lockdown, with two bespoke charity medals I had created.
A couple of months later I created two more bespoke medals, which were half marathon & marathon medals. These proved very popular, which I believed was helped by lockdown and people looking for a challenge..

2021
first engraved medals
I started to sell custom medals, following multiple requests from customers. Popular requests were medals created especially for them, many of which were sports related with added personalisation. I then had a specific request for a metal medal with an engraved logo. I started selling custom engraved medals, in my Etsy shop, which proved very popular. These were initially engraved by a third party for me.

2022
an engraving
machine!
Demand for custom engraved medals increased, so I invested in an engraving machine. This gave me more flexibility and control over orders, allowing me to be more creative and provide customers with proofs of how medals will look when engraved. This was the turning point for my business and a massive contributor to Medal Envy becoming the business it is today.

2023
business
is growing
Our business continues to grow and our custom engraved medals are proving a big hit, with curved text and engraved logos being the most popular choice.
Our medals are proving very popular on Etsy, with American customers - with around 50% of our sales coming from there.
Creativity skills are also growing, learning how to edit logos to provide the optimum results for engraving.

2024
building loyalty & repeat customers
Our business is now 4 years old and we have established a strong number of customers coming back with repeat business. A lot of this is from the corporate & university sectors.
This is invaluable to the sustainability and growth of our business and sets us in good stead to attract new customers.

2025
we open our own website
Wow! What a journey the past 5 years have been!
We are finally in a position to have our own website and devote the time and energy needed to maintain this and the additional orders this will generate.
We are very proud of our journey so far, and hope that you love our products as much as we do!
